Sydney, Australia is a unique city with a diverse blend of cultures, languages, and faiths. We at Global Frontier Missions have a heart to reach our local communities with the Gospel as we see that God has brought the nations to us in Australia. Southwest Sydney is one of the most unchurched areas in the city of Sydney, where many temples and mosques are located in which those from other faiths attend to worship. There are people in our community who will never enter a church building, therefore we, as the church, must go to the people sharing the Good News so they can have an opportunity to respond to the Gospel and follow Jesus.
Some of the unreached people groups in the South West area of Sydney are the Mandaeans, the Fijian Muslims and the Kurdish. We are currently working in the community by helping people in a variety of ways, while looking for open doors to share the Good News. We are building a cross-cultural disciple making team to reach the nations in Southwest Sydney and praying for God to bring people who have a heart for the nations, enjoy working with different cultures and want to get out into the community in a practical way. Is that you? Get involved!
GFM are engaging communities by running barbeques, ESL and creating awareness about existing organisations who help in the area.
Here are some ways to get involved:
- Teach ESL
- Organise sports tournaments (Soccer, Touch Football, Basketball)
- Help organise barbecues and other events
- Prayer walk communities and learn from the locals
- Hand out Information and engage people in spiritual conversations
